Connectors are present in almost all electrical applications, they are used in power, telecommunications, audio, video, computing, embedded systems, automation, transportation, ATE systems and lightning applications just to name a few. Connections may be permanent or removable. In every coupling there is generally a female (socket, receptacle) and a male (plug) that mate together. In their internal construction connectors are formed by contacts or terminals and a dielectric which are held together by the connector’s package or case.
