Buffers, Drivers and Transceivers

A Logic Buffer is a basic logic gate that passes its input, unchanged, to its output. Buffers can be non-inverting or inverting. Regular Buffers have one input and one output. If a buffer has one input and more than one output - such buffer is called a Fanout Buffer. Drivers and Transceivers are used to regenerate the input, usually using a strong high and a strong low. Logic Drivers consist only of a transmitting circuit. Logic Transceiver consist on both transmitting and receiving circuits in a single chip.
